support young academics to bring their research into action. SRC was founded specifically at the request of local social and academic researchers and post-graduate students, who identified a local need to develop a space where research hypotheses and findings can be validated through local actions.<\/p><p>At the outset, SRC aimed to support academics throughout their research activities; however, as the company has grown, the aim is now also to provide academics with opportunities to give their research a European perspective. The number of academics supporting the work of the company has now grown to 22 and the long-term objective is to establish a Centre for Educational Innovation where research findings can be put into practice.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SRC draws on a wide range of expertise from diverse yet complimentary disciplines like pedagogy and didactics, instructional design, social policy, e-learning, gamification, entrepreneurship, anthropology, social psychology, local history, gerontology and early childhood learning.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SRC is committed to effecting policy change and publishes policy briefs on a wide range of topics throughout the year. Families are meant to be the bedrock of our society. They are a safe environment for children to grow and develop; surrounded by care and love. When the bedrock is fractured, society crumbles. Challenge-based Learning in Primary Schools for Climate Change Awareness<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"ekit-team-modal-position\">2020-1-EL01-KA201-078808<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ekit-team-modal-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGreta Thunberg, age 17, began learning about climate change when she was 8, and began her school strikes to raise awareness about climate change when she was 15 years old. This shows the power and influence that young people can have on raising awareness about climate change if they are educated about the issues and impassioned to make a difference. The GRETA project will support primary school teachers to take on this challenge, by providing bespoke up-skilling opportunities to allow them to integrate innovative learning resources into their teaching practice and to develop their own challenge-based learning resources to raise awareness among young pupils about the climate. It is important that households and parents are educated on climate issues so that they can reduce their household consumption, make behavioural changes and help to reduce global carbon emissions. The fear of being unpopular, unattractive or unworthy are the major stressors - for whom social media plays an important role \u2013 that strike the mental health of today\u00b4s young digital natives. Besides the impact on people\u00b4s identity and well-being, it is estimated that the total costs of mental ill-health at over 600 billion \u2013 or more than 4% GDP \u2013 across the 28 EU countries.\n\nThe Positive Mental Health Project is a funded by the EU under the Erasmus + programme and consists of six experienced partner organisations from six European countries including Spain, Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal, Czech Republic and Germany. Through the THRIVE project, we are hoping to actively bring people and cultures closer together, helping female migrants realise their true and civic and social potential through education and learning. The THRIVE Project will work on 3 levels providing migrant women with educational resources that will help them to: 1. Access basic services in the areas of employment, housing, education, and health 2. Access social supports and become connected with members of their local community (geographical, ethnic, cultural, religious, or other). 3. While academia, as a whole, needs to do more to actively recruit women into STEAM majors, continuing vocational education and training has a key role to play in reducing shortages of skilled people to sustain the growing STEAM sector.\n\nResearch studies highlight the lack of female STEAM role models and mentors; the shortage of STEAM taster courses for women; an unconscious bias against women within human resource professionals in STEAM focused companies; a significant confidence-deficit among women where the STEAM sector is concerned. Greening the EntreComp Framework<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"ekit-team-modal-position\">2020-1-DE02-KA202-007429<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ekit-team-modal-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"Realising the pivotal role that education plays in the development of entrepreneurship the EntreComp framework was developed by the Joint Research Centre, the European Commission\u2019s in-house science service. It aims to provide evidence-based scientific support to the European policy-making process. EntreComp was developed to become a reference de facto for any initiative aiming to foster entrepreneurial capacity of European citizens. It consists of 3 interrelated and interconnected competence areas: \u2018Ideas and opportunities\u2019, \u2018Resources\u2019 and \u2018Into action\u2019. Each of the areas is made up of 5 competences, which, together, constitute the building blocks of entrepreneurship as a competence.\n\nConsortium partners are of the opinion that the EntreComp framework needs to be reconsidered; it needs to incorporate and reflect the green objectives of our time.\n\nWhile greening existing businesses will be a long and arduous task most likely influenced by carbon taxation and other policy measures, the emphasis for Vocational Education and Training should be firmly placed on greening the entrepreneurship actions of next generation entrepreneurs. Access basic services in the areas of employment, housing, education, and health 2.
